Company Handbook

We’ve put together some simple frameworks to help you get feedback from your peers, reflect on your own progress, set goals together, and grow your career in a way that works for you. Even though we’re a small team, we want everyone at Airteam to aim high! Our processes are designed to give you just enough structure to support you, without getting in your way.

Learning at Airteam is all about you! How much you grow depends on the time and effort you put in, and how open you are to trying new things and reflecting on your experiences. We’re not here to focus solely on what you need to improve. Instead, we want you to be honest about both your strengths and your challenges, so you can play to your strengths and decide where you want to focus. Whether that’s building mastery in a specialist area, getting better at something, or tackling something new.

Airteam’s learning frameworks

Our 🔐 learning and development plan is here to help you grow in your current role and get ready for what’s next. You’ll start by doing some self-reflection activities (see below), and you’ll also get feedback from your peers to help you see things you might not have noticed. Then, you’ll sit down with your manager to talk through your feedback and reflections, and together you’ll spot key themes unique to you. From there, you’ll set focus areas and goals, and we’ll work out what support, training, or hands-on experience you need to reach them. If you’d like to get started, just chat with your manager or our Head of Crew and Culture.

🔐 Core competencies are the key knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviours we expect from everyone at Airteam. We use these to help guide constructive peer feedback, especially during probation check-ins and when you’re setting up your learning and development plan. You can also use them when giving feedback to a teammate.

The 🔐 Developer framework shows what’s expected at each developer level at Airteam. Use it when you’re planning your career, chatting with a mentor, or thinking about your own growth. It’s a living tool to help you map out your path and see what success looks like in different roles and levels.

Self-reflection templates

Take some time to complete a self-reflection. This will help you review your performance, spot your strengths, and find areas for growth. Here are your options:

  • Developer reflection: 🔐 Personal reflection (For devs) [Google Doc]
This reflection links to the developer framework and helps you spot your strengths and find new learning opportunities.
  • UX reflection: 🔐 Personal reflection (For UX) [Google Doc]
This reflection is for UX Designers and helps you connect your role to your strengths and learning opportunities.
  • Johari window (optional): Atlassian Johari window instructions.
You can choose to do this exercise with your manager before your career planning session. It’s a great way to get to know yourself better and see how others see you too.
