Senior UX Designer - Remote in Australia

We’re looking for a senior UX Designer to join our cross-functional team. This role will suit someone who has an end-to-end UX background who loves user research, unpacking a problem space and getting things done at any point of the UX life cycle.

How this role fits into our team

Our UX Designers start projects by making sure we’re solving the right problems for the right audience. You have a rigorous approach and select the most appropriate techniques to meet research goals and discover user stories and needs. You are an expert in behavioural and attitudinal research methods and can find a way out of the weeds of research artefacts to synthesised design findings and recommendations. You are adept at communicating conceptually to illustrate design ideas and user flows. You are adaptable and pragmatic, able to spot better ways of doing things or respond to changes or new requirements. We partner closely with our clients, so being able to establish good relationships with stakeholders and work with a variety of people will help you succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee end-to-end UX projects and be outcome focused.
  • Plan, organise and conduct a range of UX research and validation activities.
  • Identify research objectives, frame research questions and choose appropriate methods to suit project timelines and project stakeholders.
  • Facilitate human-centred design activities with stakeholders and users to understand user needs, business goals and priorities.
  • Analyse and synthesise research findings to craft actionable insights and recommendations Ideate, explore and conceptualise a range of possible design solutions and conceptual artefacts, such as user flows, scenarios and user stories.
  • Take a collaborative and co-creation approach to UX Design.
  • Advocate for a quality and consistent end-to-end user experience.
  • Use active listening skills while facilitating; think on your feet and respond quickly to keep the focus on outcomes.
  • Present design work and articulate research findings and design decisions, early and often to stakeholders to ensure everyone is on the same page.

  • Collaborate with developers and foster a partnership to get to the best solutions.
  • Be pragmatic and constructively work within the commercial constraints of any project or activity.

  1. 5+ years of industry experience in an end-to-end UX Design role with strong facilitation and research skills.
  2. A portfolio reflecting your UX Design research and problem-solving skills. Bonus if you are comfortable with our design stack: Miro, Figma, Adobe CS.
  3. You must be experienced working directly with clients and enjoy building collaborative relationships.
  4. You are organised and can plan and manage your time effectively relative to the commercial constraints of a project.
